A Neighborhood Guide to Encinitas

A Neighborhood Guide to Encinitas

With my recent sale of this incredible coastal estate in Encinitas, I thought it  would be fitting to share a neighborhood guide to this seaside enclave of North San Diego. The walkability from my client’s new home affords access to toes in the sand, delicious outdoor dining, retail trendsetters and more. Here is a round-up of some of my team’s top picks in Encinitas.

Homes in the 92024 zip code range from downtown coastal urban to greater acreage and horse trails to the east in Olivenhain. You get the best of both the countryside feel to views of the Pacific Ocean within minutes.

New to the area? Your first stop can be Encinitas 101 where you’ll find the charm of the downtown district, including shops, restaurants, access to beaches and more.

Enjoy a beach day at Moonlight Beach where you’ll find pro-surfers with their families hanging together for easy breezy seaside days. On that note, don’t miss Hansen’s Surfboards for a local Encinitas go-to since 1961.

LUX Art Institute hosts artists in residence and offers wonderful workshops for both kids and adults interested in the arts. The coastal breezes from the beautifully landscaped museum are a sight of its own. Constantly changing, get ready to be inspired. I recommend checking out their calendar and planning a visit.

Craft beer is a favorite of mine! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that well! I highly recommend a stop by Culture Brewing  to order some of their handcrafted brews. Right now, they have pick-up available for cans and growlers and have a regular lineup of events throughout the year. My personal favorite of their beers? The Mosaic IPA.

An iconic must-have sunset view from Encinitas is one of the once-in-a-lifetime (or once a day if you’re lucky to call the neighborhood home) experiences. Here are the hands-down best places to watch the sunset: the steps leading to Grandview Beach in Leucadia (Encinitas); at the top of Beacon’s Beach along Neptune in Encinitas; or at the top of the stairs at Swami’s Beach in South Encinitas.

Dinner at Buona Forchetta may be one of the best date night picks for a casual, walkable neighborhood feel. A gilded oven, helmed by Pizza World Champion and Pizzaiolo Marcello Avitabile, churns out classic creations, while the main kitchen serves up chef-driven pastas and entree dishes. (Team tip: try the Cacio e Pepe pasta – made from scratch with simple ingredients – pecorino cheese and black pepper. Yum! Full menu here.)

I hand-picked a collection of available properties in Encinitas for you. Check these out for their mix of lifestyle. Each one welcomes you to experience 92024 as your own. Whether you prefer a walk to the best surf in the world or an entertaining backyard connected to hiking trails, your dream home may just be a click away.
